We had a lovely week at Sea Dog, which had plenty of positives and a few small areas that could be improved.

The location was fantastic - just a short walk to the town centre, which we enjoyed exploring. The house had a great dining table where we could enjoy meals together as a family. The Dyson vacuum and good water pressure were appreciated, though hot water sometimes ran out faster than expected. On the plus side, having driveway parking and a washing machine were big conveniences. The beds were comfortable and the children enjoyed watching the big TV when they were chilling out. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would consider coming back to this property again! Thanks

Would have been nice to know there wasn’t a door on the upstairs bedroom. The bathrooms were not provided with soap and the upstairs shower is very difficult to get into, you have to be very slim.

We loved staying at the Seadog. The location is fantastic with only a few minutes walk to the harbour. We didn’t use any of the kitchen facilities because we were too busy dining down at the harbour. We noticed a third bedroom was locked which would be great to use next time as we are usually a party of 6 (only 4 this holiday).
Loved our stay and we will be back! |

Porthleven harbour is a 2 minute walk from the property which has some fantastic restaurants and pubs/bars. Lot's to do in Porthleven as well as surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this property.

Plenty of hot running water for showering, and a good water pressure at all times. The house is a short 10 minute stroll from the harbour which made eating out in the evening nice and easy. We did have a problem with the broadband at the property but this was outside the owners control and Danielle at Finest Retreats responded quickly and efficiently to our call for help, arranging an alternative means to get us online. We received excellent service from the agent throughout this situation. |

The cleaning at the property lacks real attention to detail and sadly this lets it down. Towel rails in both bathrooms were dusty and dirty, there was low level dust and several sizeable cobwebs in corners. Hand towel and toilet roll holders were loose. In the kitchen there were crumbs under the microwave and behind the toaster on arrival and the oven didn't look like it had been cleaned. The dining chairs were wobbly and on inspection appear to be broken where the legs join the seat.
We particularly didn't appreciate all the rubbish and recycling that had been left outside from the previous tenants and more importantly the appalling state it was left in. We were between refuse collections which is fair enough but in the main bin there was a load of rubbish just chucked in loose and not bagged up. We bagged this up ourselves to avoid it being left behind in there by the collectors on rubbish day. The rubbish area was pretty disgusting to be honest and something the cleaners should have dealt with prior to our arrival. By the time we left there was no room in the recycling bag for new tenants arriving to use ... maybe applying a second bag would be a good idea? Some hangers on the clothes rail upstairs would have been useful useful as would some side-table lighting in the lounge. This could be a really super holiday home with just a bit more careful attention to detail. |
