Description
The Haven is a stunning holiday property located in the charming town of Fowey, perfect for large groups or families. The beautiful Grade II listed harbour front home offers spacious and luxurious accommodation with breath-taking views of the River Fowey and surrounding countryside.
Located in the heart of Fowey, a charming Cornish town known for its picturesque harbour, independent shops, and local restaurants. The town is surrounded by stunning countryside and offers easy access to the South West Coast Path, perfect for walkers and hikers. The harbour is a hub of activity, you can take a boat trip to explore the riverside or even hire a boat yourself and sail around the bay.
As you step inside you are greeted by a bright and welcoming entrance hall showcasing the high ceilings of the historic property, leading through to two large reception rooms complete with comfortable sofas and armchairs, and sash windows to enjoy all viewpoints. Further on the ground floor, a family snug with Smart TV perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the nearby beaches and coastal area.
In the heart of the home, the large kitchen with round marble topped table and chairs, emulates the classic period decor whilst providing all modern conveniences, including a central island, combi microwave/oven/hob, an AGA and American style fridge/freezer. Adjacent to the kitchen, the glass sunroom overlooking the estuary, with dining table for an evening meal 'under the stars'.
From the sunroom walk out onto the sun terrace with a charcoal fired BBQ, ideal for early evening drinks, alongside one of two firepits and loungers. A pathway from the garden leads down to the nearby beach and waterside walk into the town.
The house itself has five super-king bedrooms, all with breath-taking harbour views and designed with comfort in mind. The master bedroom offers a large en-suite bathroom with shower and fitted wardrobes. Along the hallway you’ll find two additional family bathrooms on the first floor.
Four single pull-out trundle beds are available on request, ideally suited to smaller adults or children.
Nearby, enjoy beautiful Cornish beaches, including Readymoney Cove, Par Sands, and Polkerris Beach. The area is home to several fantastic restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh seafood, traditional Cornish pasties, and other delicious treats. You can also find some great pubs and bars serving local ales.
The Haven is perfect for those looking for a comfortable and grand retreat from which to explore the spectacular Cornish coast. Off road, private parking is included for up to six vehicles.

The location overlooking the bay and closeness to the town with private parking is exceptional. This huge house was the home of a renowned author and academic for over 50yrs with spacious accommodation and fantastic views. The kitchen is also enormous with modern equipment as well as an aged Aga for drying off the beachwear. The conservatory was a place to sithave a family meal with a bbq on the patio while watching the sea.

There was little to detract from the charm of the property though showing the wear & tear of past years in places. There were two toddler grandchildren in the party who loved the space but care was needed as there are no stair gates and an unprotected drop above concrete steps down to the cellar from the conservatory. Supervision also needed to navigate the lovely gardens which lead down to a private gate to the small beach.
