Description
White House of Park is a wonderful hidden gem of a place - a characterful and historic property, ideally located between the North Sea coast, Aberdeen, and the Cairngorms National Park.
This area is infamous for its many whisky distilleries, making this an ideal place to stay for the discerning whisky lover, as tours, workshops and master classes are available in many locations, not to mention the opportunity to take a rare bottle or two home with you! Some of the best options locally are Balvenie Distillery, Strathisla Distillery, and the GlenDronach Distillery, although there are many many more to choose from.
The immediate Cornhill area is rural, beautiful and incredibly peaceful, with endless opportunities for walking and rambling across open countryside, soaking up the fresh Scottish air.
Inside the property, there is spacious and very flexible accommodation. With two separate living rooms both light, bright and each offering their own distinct style, there is plenty of room for everyone, with huge period feature fireplaces (now decorative only) and antique rugs making the rooms feel wonderfully cosy and welcoming.
There is a separate dining room, also with another decorative feature fireplace and beautiful traditional décor. With a large dining table to comfortably seat eight people, and space for additional chairs or a highchair if needed, this a very grand space in which to share meals and spend time together.
The kitchen has a traditional Aga range cooker, as well as an electric oven, grill, and induction hobs. It is also very well equipped with all manner of kitchenware, so you will have everything you need for any culinary adventure.
There is also a washing machine available for use located in the boiler room.
The largest bedroom, a family bedroom is on the ground floor, and offers a kingsize bed, double bed, and single bed all in one room. This also has a modern en-suite shower room, with a large walk-in shower enclosure, which is adapted for easy access for the less able.
Upstairs is just as spacious, with a kingsize bedroom, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, and an additional children’s bedroom with bunk beds in if required. There are two further bathrooms on this floor, all with modern finishes, one having a bath, and the other a bath with shower over.
Externally, there are wonderful natural gardens to be enjoyed wrapping all around the house, completely private and with plenty of space to enjoy.
Fantastic for holidays, this property is only a 10 minute drive from the sea, having both Banff and Portsoy within easy reach offering picturesque ports, sandy beaches, and incredibly good local ice cream from the Portsoy Ice Cream Shop. Also well worth visiting is the coastal town of Cullen a little further north, with a stunning beach stretching out beyond the pier, a popular Golf Club, and, if you fancy giving kayaking, sailing or paddleboarding a try then head to Cullen Sea School for expert instruction on the open water.

We had an amazing holiday at The White House of Park! The House is right by the coast so every where we went we were by the sea.

Close by is PortSoy ... Amazing Ice cream, Portsoy Marble is a lovely little shop by the harbour, The Harbour cafe serves delicious food and along with The Shore Inn and The Harbour itself was a filming location for Peaky Blinders, Michael (the younger brother) was killed there. Banff is a lovely scenic little place and The Spotty Bag shop is a must, an aladins cave! The Knowes Hotel in MacDuff has sensational views and the food there is delicious, first class. Cullen (the home of Cullen Skink 💕) is beautiful, the Rockpool cafe and Ice cream shop are worth visiting, there's some fab little bric a brac shops and the place itself is so scenic.
A bit further afield but worth driving out to are Elgin (lovely little motor museum with some fabulous old cars & a very knowledgeable owner) and Lossiemouth, I love Lossie, lovely beaches & the Harbour Lights cafe has the best food! Sadly we only had the time to visit 1 distillery this time, Strath Isla only 20 mins away from the white house and a very interesting tour, one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, the home of Chivas Regal, Strath Isla single malt and Royal Salute whiskies this is well worth a visit. Lastly the house itself, Massive is an understatement, there are so many rooms! The Tartan Room is my favourite 😍, WiFi is really good, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, plenty of crockery, cutlery & pans along with all the equipment you need, the beds that we used were super comfy! we all slept like babies, the bathrooms are spotless & modern, the grounds are lovely to walk around. The house is colourful & quirky with a personality of its own, a house that's welcoming, homely & very much loved by its owners. We'll definitely be back |

It's a big enough property. Plenty of beds, big tv's, space to sit and lounge around. A big dining table for all. Lots of parking space. Good heating system. Charming old feel about the accommodation.

We wanted accommodation with 3 bathrooms for 4 adults in this location close to a wedding venue. It's a big old property relying on a rustic charm to win you over. 2 of us liked it and 2 didn't really. The authentic features condition is sadly quite dated now and tiered but nevertheless some of us could see past that and enjoy it for the original old house feel. On arrival we actually drove past the shared entrance from the main road as the sat nav sent us the wrong way but we only made that mistake once.
