Situated in the charming village of Mattishall, near Norwich, Lychgate Cottage offers an ideal retreat for up to three guests within a Grade II listed period property.
Step inside to discover a cottage brimming with character and warmth. The interior is thoughtfully adorned with exposed beams, complemented by two delightful bedrooms.
On the ground floor, a welcoming living room awaits, adorned with a treasure trove of books and decorations. This space invites you to unwind and enjoy views of the nearby church grounds. From the living area head into the separate well-equipped kitchen featuring an oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, and Belfast basin sink. A door leads to the spacious and secluded garden. Additionally, the ground floor boasts a family bathroom complete with a shower over the bath.
Head up the traditional cottage staircase to find two bedrooms, one double and one single.
Mattishall village offers an array of local amenities, including shops, a quality butcher, superb fish and chip shop, a charming pub, and quaint cafes, all conveniently within walking distance of this superb cottage.
Located approximately 2 miles from the A47, the village provides easy access to Norwich and Dereham. Dereham, a bustling market town, offers a blend of modern conveniences alongside historic charm, with numerous dining establishments, pubs, and cafes. Nature enthusiasts will delight in exploring Neatherd Moor and Vicarage Meadow. Nearby attractions include access to the Sandringham Estate, the ruins of the Saxon Cathedral at North Elmham, wildlife and Dinosaur Parks, Pensthorpe, a haven for birdwatchers, and Thetford Forest Park.
Parking is available on street, on a first come, first served basis. We can accept one dog to accompany you during your stay, charged at an additional £20. This property is suitable for two adults, with one additional child welcome. Please note we cannot accept workers at this home.

You have the basics within a stones throw of the house and it's peaceful throughout the day and night. if you love cosy, English cottages and don't mind low ceilings then this is a good value stay.

Excellent quirky little cottage. Lovely ambience in the cottage with all amenities on your doorstep. I would recommend a stay in this cottage.
