Description
Enjoy a quaint cottage in the idyllic Duddon Valley. The charming, traditional St Francis Cottage offers a peaceful escape in a beautiful rural setting. While it retains the simplicity and character of a classic Lakeland home, it is full of warmth and charm, making it the perfect retreat for those looking to unwind and appreciate the stunning beauty of the Lake District.
Inside, you’re greeted with a inviting, open-plan living space, featuring an Inglenook fireplace and wood burner – the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploration. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, providing all the essentials for a self-catering stay.
The sunroom with French doors opens onto the private garden, and the enclosed garden with outdoor furniture is a lovely place to unwind. Find yourself surrounded by scenic walks and peaceful drives right from your doorstep, a footpath runs alongside the house, leading to Stickle Pyke. Plus, the nearby River Duddon is ideal for relaxing picnics and private salmon and trout fishing.
Upstairs, you’ll find a comfortable double bedroom with a 4ft 6in bed and a cosy single bedroom with a 3ft bed. The bathroom includes a bath with a shower over and a toilet.
The cottage is equipped with Wi-Fi, and initial logs for the wood burner are provided. There is also private parking available, and up to two dogs are welcome to join your stay!
If you’re keen to explore further, you’re close to attractions such as Muncaster Castle, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, Coniston Water, and Hardknott Fort. With a shop just 1 mile away and a country pub 2 miles away, this delightful cottage provides the perfect balance of rustic charm and convenience in a tranquil location.
