Accommodation
Description
Ty’r Delyn (translation: ‘Harp House’) is a traditional black and white fronted Welsh terraced cottage set in the rural village of Dolwyddelan. Positioned in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, it provides an ideal location for lovers of the outdoors to explore the beauty of the local area from a cosy and characterful base. With views of Snowdon and Moel Siabod from the front door and rear garden, it would be hard to find a more picturesque, idyllic and tranquil setting than this one!
Whist retaining many of its original features, Ty’r Delyn has recently been modernised to provide the perfect sanctuary to relax with a luxury hot tub, log fire and snug living spaces. The cottage comfortably sleeps five people across the two upstairs bedrooms, which neighbour the stylish bathroom with a walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a king-sized double bed and a single, whilst the second bedroom has a double. On the ground floor, the recently renovated kitchen is fully equipped including a slimline dishwasher. The kitchen backs onto a sizeable garden with a family dining area and a hot tub located under a wooden gazebo.
With WiFi, board games, books and a wide screen TV, the living area provides the perfect area to relax with friends and family whilst feeling the warmth from the log burner (there are even some friendly sheep to watch out of the living room and bedroom windows as they peacefully graze the neighbouring field!) The dining area has been tastefully furnished and houses a dining table that comfortably seats 6 people.
The lane to the front of the cottage is a cul-de-sac and therefore exceptionally quiet with little passing traffic. There is free parking up the lane with enough space for two cars.
Whether it’s walking through the endless & stunning local scenery, cycling the captivating routes from the front door, rafting through white water rapids, surfing the waves, zip lining across valleys, teeing off on the surrounding courses, seeing the many local historic sights or simply just relaxing, Ty’r Delyn provides an exquisite space that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Please note there is a 9pm curfew on the use of the hot tub and playing loud music is not permitted. We recommend that guests bring additional beach towels and perhaps robes (especially in cooler months) for use around the hot tub. There is a starter pack of logs and kindling provided for the log burner.

Beautiful location. The beds are so comfortable which is exactly what you need after mountains! Hot tub is a lovely touch. Property has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The station is on your doorstep with trains to Betws-y-coed and many other stopping points up to Llandudno. Lots of walks close to the property. Spar shop close to the property for essentials. There are two pubs in the village - both serve food. Snowdon is about a 30ኄmin drive from the property (depending on which route you are taking). We had a great stay!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay! The house is great for a few nights away to rejuvenate and switch off. The location is great if you enjoy country roads and being in an idle quiet area, local village has the basic needs such as a few restaurants and mini supermarkets, few pubs we did not try these. However went to Y stable, Bewts-y-coed and cannot rate it highly enough!
Accommodation has all the basic needs for any stay, roomy, plenty of storage, modern kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Hot tub was an added bonus, heats up quick and great for a mini massage after a walk in the local hills/snowdon. |

We had a lovely stay in "The Harp House" (English Translation) and found the property to have everything we needed for a family of 4 adults and one child. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival and it was easy to stop outside the house to unload the car - parking was further down the streeton the lane at the top of the no through road. There is no reserved spot so you have to take whatever is available at the time you arrive. The kitchen has all you need for simple catering and we cooked a few meals here without any problems. The pub in the village offered a warm welcome and a good food selection for a small village pub and the gammon steak with home cooked chips were delicious. We found we were never really far from anywhere as the house is quite centrally located in the Snowdonia area meaning everything is within a 15 - 30 minute drivecloser. If you like Zip world that is literally 5 minutes around the corner and shopping for essentials at Blaenau Ffestiniog along with takeaways, etc, is less than 15 minutes drive. There is a Spar shop in the Dolwydellan so you do not need to drive anywhere to get provisions if you don't want to. On your doorstep you have lovely walks around the local area and Dolwydellan castle is about 20 minutes walk up the road and well worth a visit. The slate museum in Llanberis is worth a visit with great walks around the disused mines giving fantastic views but if you want to get dirty and truly experience what a slate mine is all about a trip to Corris Mine explorers gives a really authentic and well priced adventure for a few hours. If you are concerned about the potential noise of the river running behind the house don't be, the sound does not intrude into the house that much even when the river in full flood - what you can hear is very soothing at bed time. The host is very helpful and was easy to reach when needed.

Spent two nights at Ty'r Delyn over the May Bank Holiday. What an unforgettable weekend. The cottage is stunning, even better than the photos suggest with a quaint stream directly out the back door, ideal surroundings and really comfy beds. There was more than enough room for 5 adults. The location is ideal, the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed is 10 mins away which has lovely views, places to eat and drink. Zip world is also 10 mins away and Pen-Y-Pass car park for the start of 2 popular Snowdon routes is 25 minutes away. The cottage is a 5 minute walk to a spar shop and a great local pub Y Gwydyr that although not well marketed does lovely home made food. There are loads of walks directly out the front door and incredible views. A clear sky on our final night allowed for a lovely view of snowdon in the distance. I will certainly be back. Have no doubts and book this cottage.

We had such an amazing stay at this little cottage. Lovely area and very close to Snowdonia national park which was the reason for our stay. Very well decorated and very clean. The beds are super comfy!! The cottage had a homely feel to it. The garden is gorgeous and the views are incredible. Supplied absolutely everything you would need when you go away for the weekend. If we are to go back to wales we will be staying here again! Highly recommend!

The house is beautiful, clean and well equipped. When we arrived it was easy to find and gain access. There was an information book with a short history and most importantly- how to use the wood burner and hot tub! The house is full of charm and feels very homely. There is so much to see and do in the area. Everywhere you look is another breathtaking view. I cannot recommend enough, just go and see for yourself!

Immaculate. Comfortable sofas with room for 4 people. Small kitchen but perfectly supplied with great non stick saucepans and the sound of a babbling brook. Beds and pillows comfortable. Host changed the temperature for us remotely when it turned chilly but that wasn't a problem. Stove not working at the moment.

Great location, lovely place to stay and very clean! The log burner wasn’t working when wet arrived which was a shame but the weather was fantastic so not a problem. The radiators are controlled by Wi-Fi so we had to message the owner for them to be turned up, but he did it right away. I would stay again for sure. The neighbours were lovely too.
