Description
Creoso to Hen Dafarn ‘the old tavern’, a spacious 15th century townhouse, elegantly furnished with a contemporary style and traditional Welsh woolens, offering the ideal blend of modern comfort and old-world character.
Located on a quiet residential street Hen Dafarn is the ideal location to stay while enjoying the Edwardian Castle and walled town of Conwy or the surrounding countryside, including the dramatic beauty of the Snowdonia Mountains. The property is a stones throw to the castle, and a short walk to the lovely marina which hosts many fairs and festivals, specialist and national shops, quality restaurants and traditional pubs.
Hen Dafarn is deceptively spacious and can accommodate up to 6. As you enter the cottage you are immediately welcomed by the large stone inglenook fireplace with a convenient and eco-friendly gas stove. Old ship beams, which are exposed throughout the house add to its charm. The comfortable seating area invites you to relax under the open plan beamed living and dining area with TV and Wi-Fi. The well-equipped kitchen, including ample storage space, induction cooktop, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, has contemporary folding doors leading straight out into the large slate-flagged south facing courtyard garden. The garden is equipped with table and chairs. This secluded, peaceful, and sunny patio is the perfect setting for alfresco dining during the summer months.
On the first floor is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a modern family bathroom with an over bath shower. Stairs to the second floor lead to an impressive mezzanine king size bedroom whose windows open out to beautiful views of Conwy Castle. An ensuite shower room completes the suite.
Parking is either on the road by the front door or car parks are available nearby. Please note that Hen/Stag parties can not be accommodated here. For bookings and more information please contact Finest Retreats.

Great location, cottage was very roomy for four people, everything as described in the cottage overview. (With the exception of not having a BBQ).

This is a surprisingly spacious house with some beautiful original features and tasteful furnishings. There was plenty of room for four adults and we really enjoyed visiting many sites both in Conwy and the surrounding area. The garden area is lovely and it would've been nice to sit out but unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough. Views from the upstairs windows are wonderful. Great to have a washing machine and dryer for a week's stay. The house was relatively quiet but you may need ear plugs in the top bedroom to block out the seagulls. The food and cleaning items were most appreciated. Conwy itself is lovely with some nice shops, restaurants and pubs.

The house could do with a deep clean. The microwave, some cutlery, pans and the cooker hood and splashback were dirty. The vacuum cleaner was also full and the tumble dryer full of lint. I can imagine it's not any easy house to clean in between guests with three floors and lots of contents. There's nowhere to store food as all the cupboards are full and some of the things in them are unnecessary. The parking is not good and it might be worth keeping up to date with the terms for parking at Bodlondeb car park as we used this all week (cost about £25 as we had the weekend and a bank holiday to cover). Many houses in the street now have Disabled signs in the window asking you not to park in front of them so this is probably adding to the problem. You need to be aware that the mezzanine bedroom is open to the rest of the house so you can hear noise from both lower floors, maybe best to have the people who go to bed latest up there. The ceilings are low in this room as well so take care when using the blinds and windows or sitting up in bed. It would also be useful to have heating instructions, the thermostat was down really low and no guide for the gas fire so it was a bit chilly until we worked it out. Communication was good and overall the house is lovely and really characterful it was only the cleanliness that brought the score down for me.

We've had a wonderful time using the cottage whilst pottering around Conwy. No problems with the parking having dropped our tot in at Hen Dafarn. We will definitely be returning.
