Accommodation
Description
The Dairyhouse is an immaculately presented three-bedroomed holiday cottage sleeping up to six adults and two children. The rural setting and homely touches make it ideal for family and friends' get-togethers. The large windows and doors allow plenty of light to flood in to the property and guests can enjoy the stunning countryside views from all rooms of the cottage. With plenty of countryside walks right from the front door it's a lovely choice at any time of the year.
The large sitting room downstairs has a characterful log burner and plenty of books and games for cosy nights in. The large french doors open up on to the patio area meaning that in the summer months guests can dine outside and make the most of the peaceful views.
The kitchen and dining area make for a great place for the whole party to cook and dine together in what is a very sociable space. The kitchen is well stocked with all the amenities guests require for their stay with dishwasher and washing machine too.
The bedrooms comprise a master with king sized double, a king sized double in the second room, while the third bedroom sleeps four people in a double bunk and a single. Both bathrooms are spotless with one providing a bath and the other a shower.
Outside, there is private, off-road parking for up to four cars.
There is plenty to see and do for days out, all within a short drive from The Dairyhouse. Montgomery is the local town and is charming spot - guests can take in the town’s heritage and the panoramic views from Montgomery Castle’s ruined battlements, and explore the treasure trove of historical artefacts in The Old Bell Museum. Montgomery is also noted for the quality of its pubs and restaurants, including the Dragon Hotel, an old coaching inn, the Monty's Brewery Visitor Centre and Cloverland Museum. Nearby, you will also find Kerry Vale Vineyard.
Powys Castle in Welshpool is only a short drive away and is one of the National Trust's finest gardens. The spectacular castle is well worth a visit and hosts regular family activities and dogs are welcome in the gardens in the off-peak parts of the year.
Just over the border in England is Bishop’s Castle is a small, market town at the centre of magnificent, unspoilt hill country. There are two museums and a Heritage Resource Centre, as well as the oldest licensed brewery in the country which provides guided tours. Many pubs, restaurants and cafes and shops catering for almost every need can be found here. There is frequent evening entertainment and the town is a centre for live music and crafts and art. Clun is a smaller, quieter and more picturesque town with its ancient packhorse bridge, the only river crossing, impressive ruined Norman castle and romantic river. It's also a nice place to eat, drink and shop. There are lively pubs, a brewery, cafes, galleries and independent shops.
Nearby there are opportunities for riding, cycling, tennis, orienteering, fishing, shooting, hang-gliding and wildlife spotting. Offa's Dyke is two minutes away and visible from the patio which is attracts walkers from all over.

We loved the location, the refurbishment of this old place is outstanding. Very quiet, warm and comfortable. The log burner was lovely on a rainy day.
