We enjoyed relaxing watching the birds and sheep from the sun room. It’s an ideal location for getting groceries, going for walks and getting to close by intresting locations. Will definitely book there again.

What a wonderful house in a beautiful area! The house is well laid out, so modern and clean and clearly very well kept. It was well set up for visiting with a toddler and we really appreciated the use of the travel cot and high chair. This is a greatbekijk meer

There are a few walking trails nearby and one right outside the house. The hostess is a kind and thoughtful lady. She came around and introduced herself soon after we checked into the house and told us where & how to find her if we ever needed anything. We stayed for a week and definitely hope to visit again.

Second visit to the Duck House. It is a large, bright bungalow with a conservatory and parking, situated in a lovely spot in Braithwaite. Everything you could want has been catered for to start your holiday. Braithwaite is a lovely village with a smabekijk meer
Second visit to the Duck House. It is a large, bright bungalow with a conservatory and parking, situated in a lovely spot in Braithwaite. Everything you could want has been catered for to start your holiday. Braithwaite is a lovely village with a small shop and 2 coffee shops (and pub) you can be in relative peace and quiet, but close enough to Keswick to walk in to all that it has to offer. At certain times, Braithwaite is busy with cars going through and lots of walkers. Lovely to have wonderful walks from your doorstep. Mary, the owner, is very friendly and lives nearby. She comes and fills up the bird feeders regularly. A lovely array of birds come to feed, including 2 ducks!

We would suggest taking a cable to connect your laptop to the TV, so that you can watch netflix, bbciplayer etc, as the TV is not the most modern in terms of channels. Other than that, no improvements required.

The access to the driveway is challenging, particularly with a larger vehicle. You certainly need your wits about you! The location pin provided by the host was not accurate but the written directions were. You are asked to strip the beds and do somebekijk meer

You are asked to strip the beds and do some other things before you leave (more than I've come across in other stays). Check out time is 9.30am so this was difficult with a small toddler. Overall we enjoyed the stay and these are just very minor gripes.

Buses run through the village into Keswickit’s a nice walk. Hosts were helpful and friendly. We appreciated their efforts to recycle, reduce single use plastic and to use non-polluting cleaning products. We would definitely consider staying again.

We found the key safe a bit of a trial as we were in and out quite a bit but that is really a very small thing. Probably need a stash of parking discs as they are easy to forget to return

The Duck house is a gem! In a fantastic location for walking, with easy access to Keswick. It is clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Lovely comfortable bed, smart kitchen and very modern bathrooms powerful showers and a hbekijk meer

The Duck House is surrounded by mountains... with great walks from the door. Private parking, and a short walk to the village store, The Royal Oak and Jasper's coffee shop. We loved our stay and recommend it highly.

It was our first visit to the Lake District and we absolutely loved it! The Duck house’ location was perfect and enabled us to explore lots of beautiful scenic places nearby without having to drive too far. The stream next to the house was magical, and so were all the different birds that were in the garden. We loved looking at the sheep on the hill in front of the house. The hosts were accommodating and left us some essentials that were really appreciated after our long drive from London. We would definitely go back again!

A perfect place to stay in the lakes. Beautiful location, walks on your doorstep as well as great pub and restaurant. The house was so clean and a lovely tranquil spot with a stream running along the house. Only one slight downside for us, there was no blackout blind in the main bedroom and it has a skylight so it’s light from when the sun is up. We would stay again as we throughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you
